49% of Americans have gambled in the past year

The American Gaming Association (AGA) this week released the results of a survey on perceptions of the gaming industry in the United States. Over the past twelve months, Americans’ involvement in gambling entertainment has reached record levels.

The survey was conducted August 11-18, 2023 by Kantar Agency on behalf of the American Gaming Association. The online survey includedyears in a row: from 49.6 years in 2019 to 42 years in 2023.

The level of interaction between the population and the gambling industry has remained very high for a decade. Nearly 9 in 10 (88%) Americans consider gambling entertainment acceptable to themselves or others.

Nearly three-quarters (71%) of Americans say the gambling industry has a positive impact on the U.S. economy as a whole. Also, according to 83% of the population, casinos serve as a factor in boosting tourism, including in areas that would not otherwise attract visitors.
