A luxury hotel is coming to Jamul Casino in California
The Jamul Indian Village Development Corporation (JIVDC) has announced the expansion of the casino with a new luxury boutique hotel. It is already under construction.
The 16-story building has 200 rooms, including 52 suites. Visitors to the casino will have direct access to the hotel via an enclosed, climate-controlled pedestrian bridge. A six-storey parking lot for 350 seats, a restaurant of about 446 square meters with panoramic views, banquet and conference halls, shopping areas, a fitness center and a spa center will be at the disposal of the guests of the complex. There will be a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, cabanas and a bar.
Erica M. Pinto, chairman of the JIVDC board, said, In just a few short years since opening, I am proud that we can capitalize on our success in managing the Jamul Casino by building a luxury hotel. It will allow us to effectively expand our market presence by increasing our fire protection funding to serve all of San Diego County, as well as provide 125 new permanent jobs and another 1,000 at the construction site. The economic impact of the hotel will have a far-reaching and long-term positive outlook for our tribe, state and local economy.
The design concept calls for the building to resemble a jewel box floating among the Jamul Mountains. The owners also intend to provide luxury services to visitors to change the perception of the hospitality market in the region.
Jamul Casino opened in October 2016, creating 1,200 permanent jobs. JIVDC uses casino revenue and resources to fund a number of initiatives, projects and services that benefit the local community.
Noteworthy: sales of lottery operator Camelot grew by nearly 100 million pounds over the year.
