Chicago approved a full casino-license and extended the lease for Bally’s

The Illinois Gaming Board voted this week to approve a full gaming license for operator Bally’s. The company will now be able to operate a permanent casino complex in Chicago, scheduled for construction between 2024 and 2026.

Last year, the operator received approval from the city to open its first casinoA gambling complex worth $1.7 billion (over 159 billion rubles) will be built on the site where Tribune Publishing is now located. The publishing house will leave the building by July 2024. The printing house is to be demolished to make way for the construction of the complex.

According to the project, the permanent casino will house 3,400 slot machines and 173 table games. The complex will also have a 500-room hotel, 11 restaurants, an exhibition area and a 3,000-seat event hall. The current casino at the Medina Shrine offers 750 slot machines, 5Awareness. The opening of a permanent casino, according to the authorities, will increase the amount of deductions to 200 million dollars (18.7 billion rubles).
