Curaçao gave operators an extra month to apply for gambling licenses

The Curaçao Gambling Control Board (CGCB) has announced that it has extended the application deadline for gambling licenses by another month. While previously the deadline date was March 30, 2024, operators can now send in documents until April 30.

The reason for this decision was the insufficient compliance of the received applications with the standards set by the Board. The extension of the deadline will allow operators to solve problems with logistics and to approach the process of preparing the necessary documentation as scrupulously as possible.

The agency saidWe need to officially register.

The Council noted that Finance Minister Javier Silvania is optimistic about ensuring business continuity for sublicensees wishing to continue operating after the new regulatory framework is in place. However, all applications must be complete and meet established standards.

The Council has warned that there will be no further extensions to the filing period. The regulator will continue to process applications during April.

Operators who submit a complete set of documents will receive direct licenses in accordance with the current legislation (NOOGH). The authorizations will remain valid after the adoption of the new regulatory framework
