Macau casino operators MGM China and Galaxy Entertainment to raise employee salaries

Macau casino operator MGM China Holdings Ltd has announced wage increases for most employees. The pay increases will take effect on March 25 this year.

The operator, which operates the MGM Macau and MGM Cotai properties, revealed the upcoming changes in a fresh press release. The move is in appreciation for the dedication and contribution of employees. About 99% of the company’s 12,000 employees can expect improved financial conditions.

MGM said team members with a monthly salary of less than 16,000 pataI am more than happy to share the fruits of Macau’s efforts and economic recovery with the staff.

Earlier this month, MGM China announced a discretionary bonus for approximately 95% of employees. The bonus, equal to one month’s salary, will be paid closer to Chinese New Year, which falls on February 10. Five other Macau casino operators have also announced a similar bonus.

Another gaming company, Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd, announced a salary increase for about 98% of employees effective April 1, 2024.
