MGM Resorts International is seriously considering opening a casino within its Dubai resort. This was announced by the company’s CEO Bill Hornbuckle, speaking at the recently held Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas.
According to the CEO, MGM has allocated for a potential casinoof gambling. Thus, in September it was announced that the General Commercial Gambling Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) would be established. It is expected that Jim Murren, former CEO of MGM, will become the Chairman of the Board of the regulator. This will benefit the company in case casino gambling is approved by the Emirate.
However, MGM is not the only major player considering expansion in the UAE. Back in 2021, Wynn Resorts announced its plans for Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, which could also have a casino.
