British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) has entered into an agreement with land-based and online casino game provider Light & Wonder. As part of the deal, British Columbia’s popular Ruyi Baccarat game will become available to the global North American offline gambling market.
The game first appeared in land-based establishments in the Canadian province in early 2020, and continues to gain popularity to this day. Once released outside of British Columbia, Ruyi Baccarat will be accessed by operators across the continent, and the audience will expand significantly. Plus, Light & Wonder won’t charge a commission.
Dan Beeb, BCLC’s chief operating officer, said providing the game in-house is a testament to the corporation’s plan to expand in the industry. He clarified that the company is always working to innovate and challenge the status quo. According to Beeb, the game will be a huge success thanks to Light & Wonder.
Mike McKiskey, senior vice president of Global Table Gaming, L&W, said that the game combines the time-honored tradition of baccarat with a more free-flowing approach. This contributes to a better gaming experience. He said the partnership with BCLC to distribute Ruyi Baccarat reinforces the provider’s commitment to providing the best games in the industry.
