Star Entertainment moves Queen’s Wharf Brisbane opening to April 2024

Australian gaming company Star Entertainment has announced the postponement of the opening date of the Queen’s Wharf casino complex in Brisbane. The project was originally scheduled to be completed in the second half of this year. But now the expected opening date is April 2024.

A group of investors recommended delaying the company’s plans because of the pressure facing major infrastructure projects across Australia. Queen’s Wharf will be a game changer for a city that continues to catch the world’s eye as we approach the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

According to a statement from the company, some areas have already been completed. We’re talking about the many restaurants, as well as the entertainment and play areas on the fifth and sixth floors of the facility. In addition, Star Entertainment said, The third and final section of the Sky Deck bridge was moved into place on Friday, June 2, 2023, which will allow for the Sky Deck lift and installation in the coming weeks. The completed platform will connect all four towers of the Queen’s Wharf complex.

Sky Deck is a 250-meter platform on the roof of the complex. It will have bars and restaurants, and visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the river from a height of 100 meters. According to the project its capacity will be up to 1500 people.

The Queen’s Wharf Brisbane was designed by Destination Brisbane Consortium. Directly on the casino complex initially allocated about 2.6 billion Australian dollars (more than 140 billion rubles), but later the cost increased to 2.9 billion (more than 157 billion rubles).
