The U.K. Gambling Commission won the Great Place to Work

award.

The UK Gambling Commission (UKGC) has been awarded a Great Place to Work. It comes on the eve of the long-awaited publication of a white paper that will unveil to the public a revamped regulatory system for the British gambling market.

The regulator has faced criticism for years and there have been calls to reform or even abolish it. However, the award is a significant contribution to the UKGC’s reputation.

The regulator received this accolade for a number of reasons: for its approach to hybrid working, its full use of technology and its various activities and digital initiatives aimed at bringing employees closer together and improving the working environment across the board. Other reasons were the extensive data collection efforts and the effective use of this information in various internal programs and initiatives. This approach has significantly improved the Commission’s efficiency and competence.

UKGC Director Andrew Rhodes, commenting on the award, praised the hard work of everyone at the Commission. He also said, We pride ourselves on putting people first and doing the right thing by focusing on areas such as personal development. I’m very pleased that in the last 12 months we’ve been recognized as one of the best places to work in the country.

Great Place to Work is a global organization with a division in the UK. They did extensive analytical work before awarding the UKGC. Evaluating hundreds of jobs and shortlisting are really complex processes that assume companies will meet a number of factors.

Recall: The AGA survey found that most U.S. gambling industry executives are optimistic.
